Ray Boyea served 28 years in the military, from 1981 to 2009, ten of which were Active Duty. He split his service between the Army, Army Reserve, and the New York Air National Guard. In September, 2001, he was deployed to Ground Zero. His other deployments include New Zealand in 2002, Afghanistan in 2004, Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and West Germany from 1983-85.
A former Animal/Dog Control Officer, Ray is a retired Sergeant with the New York State Department of Corrections and continues to work at town and county level. Before taking on the role of Veteran Intake Coordinator, Ray served as a Veteran Program Facilitator in our New York location. He is married with three sons and three grandchildren. His hobbies include history, cooking, and leather working.
