Read Steve's Story

​Steve Houghton was born and raised in upstate New York. He joined the Army in 1996 straight out of high school as a radio operator. After training he was assigned to numerous units and several combat deployments overseas. After 20 years of service he retired a Sergeant First Class as a Senior Telecommunications Operations Chief in Augusta Georgia November 2016. Then shortly after participated in the Saratoga Warhorse program in Aiken, South Carolina. He currently lives in Wagener, South Carolina as a self-employed horse farm manager and Veteran liaison/Program facilitator for Saratoga Warhorse Aiken team.
