Paul is the retired Chairman and CEO of the Dow Chemical Company. He was with the company for almost 40 years with the last 14 as President/CEO and/or Chairman. Paul was born in Venice, Italy. At age 17, Paul moved to the United States and enrolled at Purdue University speaking fewer than 50 words of English. He graduated with a BS degree in Chemical Engineering. Paul authored a book, Only in America, in which he shares his inspiring and fascinating journey of immigrating to America. 

Paul served long terms on the boards of Coca Cola, Morgan Stanley, CIGNA, Nortel, and the New York Racing Association. He is the retired Chairman of the National Parkinson Foundation and currently serves on the Visiting Board of MD Anderson Cancer Center. He received Spain's highest civilian award and is the only recipient ever of the 3 medals awarded by the world's chemical organizations. 

 
Paul and his wife JoAnn live in Paradise Valley, AZ and Saratoga Springs. An avid horseman in his youth, for the last 25 years he has been a Thoroughbred owner and a daily visitor to the Saratoga Race Track during the season.
